We believe physical education is one of the greatest opportunities we have to prepare kids for healthy, capable, active lives.
NextGen Physical Education Foundation was created to help schools and communities make the most of that opportunity.
Our approach goes beyond any single curriculum or piece of equipment. We look at the entire physical education environment — the spaces students move in, the equipment they have access to, the skills they develop, the way progress is measured, and the support educators receive.
Our goal is to work alongside physical educators, schools, and community partners to identify opportunities and provide practical resources that help more kids build physical literacy, confidence, competence, and a lifelong relationship with movement.
What We Focus On
Better Spaces. Better Tools. Better Support.
NextGen works to help schools and communities:
- Evaluate physical education spaces, equipment, and programming
- Expand access to diverse and engaging movement experiences
- Develop age-appropriate physical literacy benchmarks and assessments
- Provide practical resources and professional development for educators
- Help secure funding for equipment, facilities, and programming
- Build partnerships between schools and community organizations
Our Vision
We envision a future where every child has the opportunity to develop a broad foundation of movement skills — running, jumping, climbing, throwing, catching, balancing, lifting, crawling, and more — while discovering activities they can enjoy throughout their lives.
Physical education can do more than keep kids active for 45 minutes.
It can empower every body.
